One booking, thirty minutes, a tired dog.
Here's exactly what a session looks like — start to finish. No surprises.
- Min 0–3
Arrival
Van parks at your driveway or building. We confirm the dog's name, any notes you've shared, and walk them into the van.
Safety: Leash stays on until they're calmly inside.
- Min 3–8
Acclimation
The slatmill stays still. Your dog gets to sniff it, stand on it, get treats on it. First-timers usually figure out walking by themselves within a couple minutes.
Safety: We never push a dog onto the mill. If they're not ready, we shorten the session and try again next time.
- Min 8–12
Warm-up
Slow walk for 3–4 minutes. We're watching gait, breathing, and how comfortable they look. We adjust based on what we see, not a script.
Safety: The slatmill is dog-powered — they control speed, not a motor.
- Min 12–25
Workout
Trot or run depending on the dog, age, and fitness level. Dialed up gradually. Most dogs settle into a rhythm within the first session.
Safety: Constant handler attention. No phones, no distractions.
- Min 25–30
Cool-down & water
Slow walk back down to a stop. Water, a quick wipe-down if needed, and a tired dog handed back to you.
Safety: We always finish below working pace — never an abrupt stop.
Frequently asked questions
Is the slatmill safe?
Yes. A slatmill has no motor — it only moves when your dog moves. They can stop on their own at any time. A trained operator is in the van for the entire session.
What if my dog is scared of it?
Common, and fine. We acclimate at zero speed first. If a dog isn't ready, we shorten the session and try again. We've never forced a dog onto the mill and we never will.
How long is each session?
30 minutes door-to-door, with about 20–25 minutes of actual movement (acclimation + warm-up + work + cool-down).
What breeds is this for?
Most healthy dogs over 6 months old. We're especially well-suited to high-energy breeds, apartment dogs, and dogs with limited safe outdoor options.
What if my dog has a health condition?
Tell us ahead of time. We'll talk through pace and duration. For dogs in active recovery, we'd want a quick note from your vet first.
Where do I need to be?
Home for the handoff and pickup. The session happens in the van — you don't need to be in there with us.
What if it's raining or freezing?
Doesn't matter. The whole point of working out inside the van is that weather stops mattering.
What if my dog needs a bathroom break?
We build a short outdoor break into the cool-down if you'd like — just let us know.
